Why a Remote Lawyer Is an Advantage, Not a Compromise

No Time or Money Lost on Travel

You don't spend days traveling, booking hotels, or waiting in line at an office — consultations, document preparation, and case filing all happen without interrupting your life, work, or studies abroad.

Accessibility Instead of Waiting Lists

Your lawyer stays in constant contact through the messenger app you already use and answers questions promptly — not on the schedule of a single office in a single time zone.

Transparency at Every Stage

You receive digital copies of every procedural document — claims, court rulings and decisions, responses from government bodies, the enforcement service, and the National Police — so you see the whole process instead of waiting for a final phone call.

The Same Result, More Control

A remote format doesn't mean less control — on the contrary, every step is recorded in writing and shared with you, reducing the risk of lost information that comes with verbal explanations during in-person visits.

Practice Areas We Handle Remotely

Case Examples

👨‍👩‍👧

Recovery of Child Support and Arrears

Situation. The client lives abroad with her children; her ex-husband remained in Ukraine, formally had no official income, and was unreachable.

Team's actions. The legal services agreement was signed remotely via Diia.Signature; the lawyer acted on the basis of a warrant. Attorney inquiries established the debtor's actual employment and assets; a claim was filed for child support in a fixed monetary amount.

Result. The court determined the amount of child support; after the debtor was entered into the debtors' register, the arrears were paid off within the enforcement proceeding's timeframe. The client received digital copies of all procedural documents and never had to travel to Ukraine at any stage of the process.

🏠

Accepting an Inheritance After Missing the Deadline

Situation. The testator died in Ukraine; the heir lives abroad and was unable to contact a notary within six months due to being unable to travel and consular queues.

Team's actions. The heir executed a notarized power of attorney for handling the inheritance at a notary in their country of residence and had it apostilled; through the Electronic Court, the lawyer, acting on a warrant, filed a claim for an extension of the deadline to accept the inheritance.

Result. The court recognized the reasons for missing the deadline as valid; the inheritance case was opened under the issued power of attorney, and ownership was registered to the heir without their presence in Ukraine.

📄

Court Recovery of Debt Under a Promissory Note

Situation. The borrower in Ukraine stopped responding after the creditor moved abroad, citing a lack of funds.

Team's actions. Acting on a warrant, the lawyer checked the debtor's assets through public registers; along with the claim, filed a motion to secure the claim in order to restrict disposal of the assets found.

Result. The court upheld the claim; the parties reached a settlement at the enforcement stage, and the debt was repaid to the creditor along with legal costs.

Divorce Without Appearing in Ukraine

Situation. The client went abroad before the divorce proceedings began; the other spouse resides in Ukraine, making the client's personal presence at the court hearing impossible.

Team's actions. The lawyer acted on the basis of a warrant; the divorce petition was filed through the Electronic Court, and a motion for the client to participate in the hearing via video conference was granted.

Result. The marriage was dissolved without the client having to travel to Ukraine; the court decision and an extract from the State Register of Civil Status Acts were sent to the client electronically.

Recognition of a Foreign Court Judgment in Ukraine

Situation. The client obtained a foreign court judgment for debt recovery against a counterparty registered in Ukraine, but could not enforce it directly in Ukraine — the judgment required recognition by a Ukrainian court.

Team's actions. Acting on the basis of a warrant, the lawyer prepared and filed a motion for recognition and enforcement of the foreign court judgment under Section IX of the Civil Procedure Code of Ukraine.

Result. The court recognized the foreign court judgment; a writ of execution was issued, and the case was transferred to the enforcement service for compulsory debt recovery in Ukraine.

How We Arrange the Agreement If You're Abroad

1

Step 1. Consultation

You leave a request via Messenger, WhatsApp, or Telegram and receive a free initial case review from a lawyer.

2

Step 2. Preparing the Agreement

The lawyer prepares the text of the legal services agreement and sends it to you electronically for review — you see the scope of work, timeframe, and cost in advance.

3

Step 3. Signing via Diia

You sign the agreement with a qualified electronic signature via the Diia app (Diia.Signature service) or via sign.diia.gov.ua — it takes a few minutes from any country with internet access. This signature is recognized as equivalent to a handwritten signature and seal and is accepted by Ukrainian courts and government bodies.

4

Step 4. The Lawyer's Warrant

In most cases, the lawyer acts in the client's interests on the basis of a warrant — an official document confirming the lawyer's authority to represent the client, which does not require separate notarization. The warrant is issued by the bar association and signed by the lawyer themselves, which significantly speeds up the start of work on the case.

5

Step 5 (alternative). Paper Version

If the client cannot sign the agreement electronically, a paper version is available, sent by international mail.

When a Notarized Power of Attorney Is Specifically Required

A warrant confirms the lawyer's status as a representative and grants the right to perform procedural actions in court on the client's behalf, but it does not establish the scope of authority to dispose of the client's property or property rights — for that, the law requires a separate notarized power of attorney.

A warrant confirms the fact of representation itself, while a notarized power of attorney defines the specific scope of authority to dispose of the client's property, money, or procedural rights — without it, a notary or state registrar has no grounds to act on the client's behalf through a representative.
